What we are working on and the status of each project.

  • Blue Ribbon Dining Transparency
    • Student representatives allowed to have public discussions
    • Released committee membership
    • Released summary of past meetings
    • Answered 20 common student questions and posted document online
    • Released committee's communication to the consultant
    • Released consultant's draft recommendations
    • Ensured voting rules were clarified (3/4th majority to approve any recommendation)
    • Ensured membership rules were clarified (membership is closed)
    • Invited Donna Denoncourt (chair of the committee) to a UA Senate meeting (3/9)
    • Working to release full summaries of each meeting
    • Working to release a calendar of events until final recommendations
    • Working to release the first draft of the consultant's report
    • Working to schedule public hearings on the committee's recommendations
  • Working on Interact: a website to facilitate information sharing between administrators and students (a project of the Institute Committee on Student Life)
  • New UA website
    • Basic documents (constitution, bylaws, minutes, bills) now easily accessable
    • UA Senate twitter
    • Adding more documents (Institute Committee minutes, past Senate bills and minutes, etc.)
    • Working to create feedback mechanisms

    • Working to put a large TV outside the student center to track currently running SafeRides
    • Working with the Transportation Office and Audio/Visual Services to ensure compliance with Cambridge law regulating outside electronic displays

    • Agreement from Residential Life for a pilot study
    • Solidfying contract for a packer truck
  • Increasing communications with the Tech
    • Talking with opinion editor about the format of the column
  • Secured funding for and preparing to launch faculty dinners
  • Starting Community Conversations, a project to facilitate group conversations between students, faculty, and administrators
  • SafeRide
    • Revised the Boston All route so that a SafeRide would cross the bridge every 30 minutes instead of every 60 minutes
    • Assisted in rerouting Boston Daytime to meet the requirements of the Boston Transportation Department

  • Transitioning student mail to a more easily accessible system
