Committee on History

The UA Committee on History aims to improve the Undergraduate Association's "institutional memory". We serve as resource to Senate and Exec, produce occasional reports on various aspects of the UA's history, and serve as the archivists of the Association.

Current Projects

Data Repository

The UA Committees occasionally produce reports and survey students. We are combining these documents with Senate legislation and Senate and Exec agendas and minutes to create an easily accessible data repository. The repository will enable the MIT community to quickly find UA productions and records relevant a given issue, improving the ability of the UA to effectively represent student interests.

Completed Projects

Governing Documents Maintenance

We have updated the UA's governing documents to incorporate amendments approved by Senate over the past several semesters and to provide consistent formatting. The governing documents include the Constitution, Senate Bylaws, Executive Bylaws, Election Code, and Class Council Constitution. Please see http://ua.mit.edu/transparency/governing_docs/.

Committee Membership Archive

We have created lists of past committee chairs and vice chairs. This information will let the UA utilize the experience and knowledge of alumni when issues arise. Please see http://ua.mit.edu/history/officers.
