Join Senate - Fall 2010 Elections
Are you interested in representing your fellow students? How about applying your skills to help solve campus problems? Want to learn more about how decisions are actually made at MIT? If so, you should consider running for Senate!
What You'll Do
- Represent your fellow classmates and living group residents on student life issues
- Learn about the Institute's decision-making processes and how to get things done on campus
- Work with other student leaders to solve campus problems
- Meet with adminstrators and prominent members of faculty
How to Run
- Pick up an election packet from one of the following events:
- Activities Midway: Friday, Sept. 3rd—4:00pm to 6:30pm
- Elections Meeting: Friday, Sept. 3rd—6:30pm-7:00pm
- Information Sessions
- East Campus: Monday, Sept. 6th—8:00pm-8:30pm
- Simmons Hall: Wednesday, Sept. 8th—6:00pm-6:30pm
- Burton-Conner: Thursday, Sept. 9th—6:00pm-6:30pm
- Next House: Thursday, Sept. 9th—6:00pm-6:30pm
- UA Office Hours, W20-401 (Student Center 4th Floor): Saturday, Sept. 11th—11:00am-1:00pm
- Fill out the packet and return by 5:00pm on Monday, Sept. 13th
- Start Campaigning on Monday, Sept. 13th after 5:00pm!
- Be sure to read the campaign rules before you begin.
- At 9:00am on Wednesday, Sept. 15th vote online at vote.mit.edu
- Find out the election results on Saturday, Sept. 18th at vote.mit.edu
- Attend the 1st Senate Meeting on Friday, Sept. 20th at 7:30pm in W20-400
- Attend to learn about Senate & the Institute even if you did not have a successful campaign!
