Student Faculty Dinner Sign-up
Get ready and get excited, because during spring semester, you can take a
member of the MIT faculty out to a nice dinner paid for by the UA!
Don't miss this opportunity to interact with your favorite
professor!

Form a group of 3-6 MIT undergraduates.
Sorry grad students.

Talk to your favorite MIT professor.
Sorry TA's, GRT's, lecturers, researchers, and staff.
Oh, and don't worry if another student group has already talked to them. Professors can go on as many dinners as they'd like.

Sign up online and have all the students confirm.
We'll send all the students an email with a link.
We'll send an email to your professor as well, just to let them know you signed up.

Pick a date before May 25, 2012 that works for everyone.
Let us know when you are going. We emailed you the link after you confirmed.

Print both the emailed dinner form and the tax exemption form and bring them to dinner.
We’ll email both to you once you let us know when you are going.

Enjoy your dinner and conversation with your professor.
Request an itemized receipt, in English. It must include the restaurant name, each item and their price, and date of service. Make sure you also get your proof of payment.
Without an itemized receipt or proof of payment, you will not be reimbursed.
Don't forget the tax exemption form.
Ask your professor to sign the dinner form.

Turn in the signed dinner form and the itemized receipt at W20-401.
Your reimbursement will not be processed without a signed dinner form.

Create a Request for Payment.
To be reimbursed for your dinner, visit http://web.mit.edu/sapweb/PS1/procurement_home.shtml and click "Reimbursement". Enter the name of the person being reimbursed and continue. In the line items section, enter the date of service, the amount you’re being reimbursed for, and use the explanation section to list the name of the professor you had dinner with. Scan and attach your itemized receipt and proof of payment. Send your completed RFP form to Alexandria Hall, using the “Send to” button at the bottom.
SAO will reimburse you by direct deposit for up to $20 per attendee.
MIT will not reimburse you for alcohol or tax.
MIT will not reimburse you without an itemized receipt.
Also, please be patient with the paperwork. It may take more than a couple weeks. You can check on the status of your reimbursement by going to http://web.mit.edu/sapweb/PS1/procurement_home.shtml and clicking "Find RFPs".

One time per undergraduate per term (IAP 2012 is counted as a separate term).
You can attend a dinner with another group unofficially if you would like to, but we can only reimburse one dinner per student.
We've increased the funding for this program.
Upperclassmen, maybe you remember this program running out of money before you could sign up. We're doing our best to make sure that doesn't happen anymore.
