As the official undergraduate liason to the administration, the Undergraduate Association is responsible for meeting with administrators to convey the ideas and needs of undergraduates. Here you can find our notes from these meetings.

In attendance: Tom Gearty, Dean Colombo, Sammi Wyman, Vrajesh Modi, Mike Bennie, Maggie Delano
The first topic of discussion was DSL searches. We were referred to Barbara Baker for the status of the Leadership Dean search after being told that negotiations with the selected candidate were ongoing. The Dean asked us to provide names of students who will be around over the summer for search committees to fill Karen Nilsson, Jed Wartman, and Kaya Miller’s position. He also informed us that Jed and Kaya’s positions might not be filled until the positions they report to were filled and that he was hoping to find a Senior Associate Dean for Residential Life with a lot of experience around dining.
He informed us that House Managers are working with their dorms to ensure that murals are not painted over and that new Housemasters for Senior Haus had been found and would be moving in over the summer.
We discussed the possibility of getting DSL funding for the Trader Joe’s shuttle and to expand student faculty dinners and we were asked to talked to Peter Cummings about the allocation of the student life fee to get more for Student Faculty dinners and to facilities about establishing the TJ shuttle.
We also discussed improvements to the student center. The Dean was very excited about this idea and committed to have Phil Walsh, director of CAC convene a committee to start looking at quick fixes such as new paint, furniture, vendors, as well as long term improvements. He expressed that the committee should have representation from all stakeholders including staff that use the meeting space as well as students.
