You can use WebMoira (certificates required) or "blanche listname -a $USER" to add yourself to any of the public mailing lists below. If you have trouble, you can also email ua@mit.edu and ask to be added. Most of these lists are also archived with Discuss.

Council (ua-council; add yourself to ua-council-listeners)

Most emails related to the UA Council (the UA's main policy-making body) go to ua-council, although some confidential emails are sent to ua-council-members. If you'd like to get this email, add yourself to ua-council-listeners (public).

The ua-council list is moderate traffic: it receives agendas before meetings, most legislation, and occasionally significant policy discussion.

Byte (add yourself to ua-byte)

Subscribe to the Weekly UA Newsletter via the Byte email list. The Byte is sent to all undergrads and anyone who would like to subscribe to it via ua-byte email list.

The ua-byte list is fairly low traffic receiving emails once a week on Monday mornings.

Inform (add yourself to ua-informed)

More frequent updates of what is going on around the UA, including topics that do not get discussed at Council or Cabinet meetings.
