Finance Board

Chair: Alekhya Reddy and Anirudh Sailesh

The UA Finance Board is responsible for allocating approximately $300,000 each year to the campus’s many student groups that mainly serve undergraduate students. The Chair of the Finance Board must work to manage a committee responsible for soliciting and reviewing applications from these groups, including meetings with the groups to discuss their applications. Further, the Chair will work with the UA Treasurer to present the Board’s allocation decisions to Council for final review.

Each group must have at least the President or Treasurer attend both the Finboard Training and the SAO Training to be eligible to apply for funding. The training presentation is also available below.

Office Hours

Please contact finboard.mit.edu to make an appointment for office hours.

During Office Hours, members of Finboard will be available to answer any questions you might have. Finboard members can walk you through the Finboard process, help you with your application, give you feedback, or do whatever else you may need. All Office Hours will take place in W20-401.

Current Regular Allocations

The regular Fall 2014 allocation cycle is now open. Please email all budget defenses to finboard2014@gmail.edu.

Current MEF Allocations

The MEF allocations for the Fall (July-December) 2013 cycle have been posted. The receipt deadline for the Fall Cycle is December 31, 2013. For MEF, charge your expenses against your group's Main Account instead of your Funding Account. Your group will only get your MEF grant after the event, if you do the following. If you want your group's MEF grant, submit a short post-event report with an explanation of how the event went and a breakdown of your expenses to ua-finboard-chairs@mit.edu and ua-treasurer@mit.edu. If your group needs to have your Main Account go negative before you receive your MEF grant, that should be fine; talk with Colin Codner in the SAO to let him know.
